Adaleen Keesler
Adaleen Keesler was born 26 July 1838 on the old home farm in Damascus Township, the eldest child in the household of Charles D. Keesler, where the 1850 census records her at twelve. She grew up near Galilee. Two published biographies name her, her brother Walter's, which calls her "Adaline, born on the old home farm in Damascus township ... married Joel Potter," and the Sutliff genealogy from the other side of the family. Her own obituary names her parents as Charles and Sallie Keesler.
She married Joel Potter in 1857 and had ten children, eight of whom outlived her. After Joel's death in 1899 she married Henry Boults, and he too died before her. She spent her last years in feeble health at her daughter's house at Rileyville and died there on Saturday, October 11, 1924, at eighty-six. She was carried by motor hearse to Pine Mill cemetery and buried beside her first husband. Her death certificate, number 94259, is filed under Boults.
