Alice Gertrude Henson was born on New Year's Day, 1 January 1890. She married Silas Willis Risley, a farmer's son from Ozark County, Missouri, who went by Willis.

In 1910 she was Allie Risley, 19, born in Missouri, living with Willis at Big Creek in Taney County, Missouri, with their first child, a baby daughter named Ramey. More children were born in the Missouri Ozarks before the family moved. A son, Clifton Willis, was born in June 1913 at Forsyth, in Taney County. About 1920 the family moved south into Oklahoma. In 1930 Allie, 40, was keeping house in Moore Township, Muskogee County, with Willis and five children, Clifton, Orgie, Reta, Jewel and Juanita. By 1932 they had settled near Cookson, in the hills of Cherokee County. Alice's youngest child, Aquila Cornelious, was born there on 4 October 1932, when she was 42.

When Aquila and his brother Clifton applied for Social Security numbers, each gave his mother's maiden name as Henson, Aquila's as Alice G. Henson and Clifton's as Allice Henson.

In April 1949 Alice lost her son Orgie, 32, in California. A tire blew on Highway 99 near Ceres, the car rolled and burned, and Orgie's wife Thelma, her two sisters and a baby niece died in it. Orgie died of his burns the next day.

In April 1950 Alice was at Cookson with Willis and Aquila, then 17. Willis died later that year. Alice outlived him by sixteen years and died on 25 January 1966, aged 76. She was buried at Box Cemetery near Vian, in Sequoyah County, under a granite marker with scrolled corners headed "Mother".
