Anna Mathilda Ruckelhausen was born in Ohio in 1888, the daughter of Louis Ruckelshausen, an engineer born in Germany, and Rosa Betscher of White Oak. Her father was born on 1 August 1865, a son of Casper Ruckelshausen and Maria Knoph. Her mother was born on 28 July 1861 at White Oak, the German Catholic farm settlement in Green Township west of Cincinnati, and her mother's father, Joseph Betscher, was born in Germany. Three younger brothers and sisters are known: Lillie, born 8 September 1890, Clifford, born 29 June 1892, and Elsie, born 25 April 1895.
Her father died at 2347 Victor Street in Cincinnati on 14 March 1909, aged forty three, and was buried at Vine Street Hill.
She married Charles Keck of Cincinnati about 1906. He was born there on 31 December 1882, one of twin sons of John and Pauline Keck. They had five children: Harry, Charles, Helen, Lucille and Deloris. The 1920 census finds the family in Cincinnati Ward 11.
In 1940 she and her husband were living in her widowed mother's house. The head is Rose Ruckelhausen, a widow of seventy six. Under her are her daughter Anna Keck, fifty two and married, Lillie, forty eight, and then Charles Keck, fifty nine, and Lucille Keck, thirty two. Her mother died in the same house on 17 July 1943, aged eighty one.
The house is 2347 Victor Street, and her family had been in it since at least 1909. In the 1950 census Charles is the head of the household there, a department store watchman of sixty eight, with Anna at sixty two. Their son Charles was then a service manager at a department store in the same city.
She died on 17 April 1955 and was buried at Saint Mary Cemetery in Saint Bernard, in the same ground as her son's wife's people. Her husband died on 24 October 1960 and was buried there too.
