Anncivilla Pierce
Anncivilla Pierce married Malon Laurel Waldron on 15 May 1872 at Anamosa, in Jones County, Iowa, where the record calls her Anna S. Pierce. Her family gives her birthplace as Cedar County, Iowa, and her parents as James Pierce and Sarah Kinton. Her name was written many ways in her children's records: Ann, Anna C., Ann Covella, Anncibella, Anna Sevelle. Malon's death certificate of 1934 calls her Annciville.
She and Malon had at least eleven children, beginning with James Melvin about 1872. Jennie, born on 7 November 1883, was the seventh. George, born near Cumberland in 1886, had a birth record made late in life, and it names his parents as Mahlon Waldron and Ann Pierce. The youngest, Floyd, was born in 1897.
Anncivilla died on 18 February 1901 in Cass County. Her stone in Greenwood Cemetery reads: "ANNCIVILLA, wife of MALON WALDRON, died Feb. 18, 1901, aged 47 y. 2 m. 24 d." By that reckoning she was born about 25 November 1853. Her daughter Jennie was seventeen. When Jennie married William Christopher Lehman the next year, the marriage record named her mother as Amelia Pierce.
