Bridget Whalen
Bridget Whalen was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, about 1845 by her obituary and gravestone, or September 1850 by the 1900 census. She came to America in the 1860s, in 1865 by her obituary or 1867 by the census, and settled in the Rush and Honeoye Falls country of Monroe County, New York.
She married Thomas Moran at Rush in 1873. He was a Kildare man who hired out on the Hallock brothers' farms, and in 1886 they bought farms of their own at Honeoye Falls. Seven of their children were living when Thomas died in May 1905, three years after a stroke.
Bridget was a widow for fourteen years. In October 1919 her son George married Gertrude Neenan of East Bloomfield. Two and a half months later, on 27 December 1919, Bridget died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew McDonald, on North Main Street in Honeoye Falls. She was seventy-four. Her funeral was held at St. Paul's church and she was buried beside Thomas at Lima. She left a will, and her sons John W. and Samuel F. Moran were its executors.
