Christina Margaret Ream

She was born in Morgan County, Illinois, to a German family whose name in the old spelling was Riehm, and was raised Quaker. At sixteen she married Alonzo Robert Prentiss in Van Buren County, Iowa. She buried a daughter the next year, raised the two children who lived, and was left with them when he married again in Missouri and went west. In July 1857 she married Henry Ebben, a German who had come over as a child, and by the census of 1860 the household at Kirksville in Adair County, Missouri, held Henry, Margarett, and her two Prentiss children entered under his surname. That single page is what put her daughter back in the record after ten years of looking. She and Henry had a son, Amos. Henry died in 1889. She married twice more, to William Nelson Bishop in 1895 and to Darby Wilson in 1898, and outlived both. She died at Loraine in March 1902 and was buried at Wesley Chapel in Blandinsville. Her name is spelled four ways across her four marriages and she is Margaret in most of them.
