Dorothy was the wife of George Blake of Gloucester, Massachusetts, and her maiden name is not recorded. The Gloucester town book enters her children as the children of "George and Dorathie". Rebecca was born in February 1641, then Deborah, then Prudence on 15 April 1647. Elizabeth followed in 1650 and Mary on 14 February 1652. A son, Thomas, was born on 9 June 1658 and lived sixteen days. Ruth was born on 3 September 1659.
Her husband was a selectman of Gloucester in 1649. He sold their houses there in 1665 and 1669, and about 1675 they moved to Boxford, by Perley's History of Boxford (1880). The Tyler genealogy of 1912 says they "early moved to Boxford". By 1691 they were so poor that the town voted not to tax her husband.
Her daughter Prudence married Moses Tyler on 6 July 1666 and died in 1689, at forty-one. Her eldest daughter, Rebecca, wife of Robert Eames, was condemned as a witch at Salem in 1692 and reprieved the next year.
Her husband died at Boxford on 17 February 1698. Babson's History of Gloucester (1860) records that "Dorothy Blake, probably his wife, died at the same place, Dec. 12, 1702." Perley's History of Boxford says it without the doubt: "His wife Dorothy survived him till Dec. 12, 1702, when she died."
