Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Hassen, labourer, of Cadney and afterwards of Grasby in Lincolnshire, and mother of the Edward Hazen who was a proprietor of Rowley in Massachusetts by about 1646. Her maiden name has not been recovered.

She bore five sons. The first three, John, Edward and Robert, were christened at Cadney between 1612 and 1617; the family then moved to Grasby, where Richard was christened in 1619 and William in 1622. Her husband made his will on 15 May 1628 and left her everything not otherwise disposed of, and made her his full & sole Executrix; he was buried six days later. She proved the will at Market Rasen on 28 July 1628 and was left with five boys, the eldest sixteen and the youngest not quite six, and a debt of eleven pounds eleven shillings and eightpence owing to a Mr Barnard on three bonds. William was buried the following March.

What became of her afterwards is probable rather than certain. Her family's historian suggests she is the Elizabeth who married Thomas Sewell at South Kelsey, a few miles off, on 27 June 1630, and if so she was buried at South Kelsey on 7 April 1647. Both statements are offered with a qualification and neither has been proved.
