Daughter of Thomas Payne of Dedham, and that is the whole of her origin. She married John Hunting on 18 April 1671 and bore nine children between May 1672 and January 1696, a span of twenty five years, which puts her marriage in her late teens or early twenties and her last birth in her middle forties.

The first child, John, died soon after birth. The second, Nathaniel, born 15 November 1675, took a Harvard degree in 1693 at about seventeen, went to East Hampton on Long Island as a preacher in September 1696 when he was twenty, was ordained there on 13 September 1699, and stayed fifty four years until he died in harness in 1753. Her ninth and last child, Jonathan, was born on 27 January 1696, eight months before her second son went to the far end of the sound.

What is not recorded is her birth, her death, her age at anything, and her mother's name. She is a daughter in one marriage entry and a mother in nine birth entries, and there is nothing else.
