Her sister Lenorah was born in 1883.
She married James Burton Jennings of Missouri and had four sons: Frank in 1905, Bernell in 1907, Clarence, called Buck, in 1910, and Ray William in Oklahoma on 9 December 1913.
In 1930 Ethel was 43 and living in Kay County, Oklahoma, with her husband and their youngest son Ray. The census gave her birthplace as Tennessee.
The family later moved to Kansas. Ethel died in 1941, on 14 December by the memorial, the year her grandson Kenneth was born at McPherson. She is buried in the McPherson Cemetery under a small granite marker that reads "Ethel L. Jennings 1886 - 1941".
