George Pardee was baptised at Pitminster in Somerset on 19 February 1623/4, the son of Anthony Pardee, a clergyman, and Anstice Cox. Pitminster is three miles south of Taunton.

He turns up at New Haven as a young man with no trade. The court ordered "thatt George Pardy shall dwell w[i]th Francis Broone as his apprentice, for the tearme of 5 yeares from henceforwarde, dureing w[hi]ch time the said Francis is to doe his endeuo[u]r to teach him the trade of a taylo[u]r." He was about twenty, which is late to begin an apprenticeship, and a parson's son binding himself out for five years is not what the family in Somerset would have planned.

The five years ran out and he married. Martha, daughter of Richard Miles, married him on 20 October 1650. They had four children in eight years. The first John died as an infant in 1653 and a second John was born that December. George followed in January 1655/6 and Mary in April 1658.

Martha died and he married Katherine Lane on 29 December 1662, and a third wife, Rebecca, after her. He died in April 1700, seventy six years after his baptism in Somerset.
