Harvey Warner
Harvey Warner was born in New York on 26 February 1822. He married twice, and both wives were Rockwells.
His first marriage, to Mary W. Rockwell, was on 23 August 1845. The Ohio indexes hold a Warner and Rockwell marriage at Medina in 1845, which is very probably this one and would put Harvey in Medina County before he went west. Mary bore five children: Martha Jane in 1846, who died in 1861; Elizabeth Ann in 1848, later Mrs Snyder, who lived until 1907; David in 1855; Joseph in 1857; and William Henry, born and dead in 1863. Mary died on 26 February 1864, at thirty-eight.
On 2 November 1865 he married Cynthia Jane Rockwell, born in Ohio on 6 May 1844 and twenty-two years younger than he was. Their daughter, Jennie Melinda, was born on 20 July 1866. Cynthia died on 14 May 1868, aged twenty-four, before Jennie was two.
So the household the 1880 census found at Orion, Richland County, Wisconsin, was a widower of fifty-eight with three children at home: David and Joseph, sons of his first wife, and Jennie, daughter of his second. Harvey died on 2 June 1883 and is buried at Sextonville Cemetery with Mary beside him. Cynthia's stone stands in the same cemetery.
