Heinrich Friederich Christian Thiele
Heinrich Friederich Christian Thiele was born at Bierde, a village of Lahde parish in Kreis Minden, Westphalia, and baptised on 18 March 1827. The baptism as cited names his parents as Friedrich Thiele and Ilse Marie Sophie Charlotte Koch.
On 24 August 1855 he landed at New York from Bremen on the ship President Smidt. The list enters him as "Fried. Thiele, 28, farmer, Bierde", bound for Fort Wayne, Indiana, with Lisette, twenty-four, and Friederich, a year and a quarter old. Just above him on the page is the Hitzmann family of Bierde, among them Louise Hitzemann, fifteen, who later married Dietrich Heinrich Ernst Linnemeier. Just below him is the Radenbeck family, also of Bierde. His 1900 census entry gives 1855 as his year of arrival.
Lisette and the boy are entered in his block as a wife and child would be. No later record names either of them. He married Wilhelmina Coldewey about 1859, and their son Louis was born in October 1860.
In 1900, at seventy-three, he and Wilhelmina were living in Louis's household in Washington township, Allen County. He was still living in February 1910, when her obituary called her the wife of Fred Thiele of Washington township.
