Jacobina Vandehey was born on 13 April 1879 in Hollandtown, Brown County, Wisconsin. She was a daughter of Martin VandeHey (1853-1931) and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Holkamp VandeHey (1852-1915), according to her grave memorial.

She married Michael Lawrence "Mike" Van Densen, who was born in Limburg, the Netherlands. Their memorial lists nine children, born between 1904 and 1921: George Jacob, Lawrence, Marie H., Cecilia H., John Bernard, Rosella Petronella, Leona Marie, Joseph John and Bernard G. Her obituary counted four daughters and six sons, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. That is one more child than the memorial lists. Her husband died in 1955.

The obituary said she "had been a resident of Menasha for the past 20 years." She died on 17 December 1962 at Pleasant Acres in Oshkosh, Winnebago County, aged 83. Her funeral was held at St. Mary Catholic Church, and she was buried in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha.
