Jean Andrews
Jean Andrews was a daughter of William Andrews of Halifax County, North Carolina. When her father made his will on 20 October 1761 she was already married, and he left "my Daughter Jean Bryant" twenty shillings sterling. Her brothers and sisters named in that will were Henry, Amey, who married a Bailey, William Hill, Abner, Isam, Micajah, Sarah and Jesse Andrews.
She married William Bryant of Halifax County. Their children were Jesse, William, Penelope, Sally and Catharine. Jesse, the eldest son, was a grown man by 1762.
Her father died that autumn, and her husband only a few months later. William Bryant made his will on 13 March 1762 and lent "my well beloved wife Jean Bryant" the plantation where they lived and all his goods, indoors and out, for her widowhood or her life. Her brother William Hill Andrews witnessed it, and her brother Jesse Andrews was named an executor with her son Jesse. The will was proved at the June court of 1762. What became of Jean after that is not known.
