Johann Georg Grauer

1774-1838
Born 1774
Died 1838

Johann Georg Grauer was the son of Sebastian Grauer, of Kusterdingen, a village a few miles east of Tübingen in Württemberg. A compiled family tree gives his dates as 1774 to 1838.

On 8 February 1796 he married Anna Maria Vött at Kusterdingen. The clerk entered the bride as "Anna Maria Voettin", daughter of "Jac. Voett". The -in ending was the feminine form that Württemberg clerks gave a woman's surname.

Their children were baptised in the village. Eva was born about 1801 and buried in 1816. Anna Maria was born about 1811 and buried in 1815. Anna Margareta was born on 19 August 1814, and Johann Jakob was baptised on 5 February 1817. The last, Magdalena, was baptised on 7 October 1821 and buried a week later. Their son Conrad married on 17 February 1822, Johann Georg married Elisabeth Friesch on 13 May 1832, and Jakob married Anna Maria Vött on 1 May 1837. The 1837 entry names Jakob's parents as Johann Georg Grauer and Anna Maria.

In February 1843 his son Johann Jakob married Barbara Gutbrodt, a daughter of Johann Jakob Gutbrodt of the same village.

Kusterdingen had more than one Johann Georg Grauer in these years. One of them baptised a son with a wife Catharina in June 1835.
