John Wood
John Wood was born at Bridgewater, Massachusetts, on 1 October 1710. The town book enters him as "John, ch. Francis and Sarah." His parents had married on 5 January that year. His father, Francis Wood, lived in South Bridgewater. His mother, Sarah Harden, was the widow of John Hooper. His younger brother and sisters were Mary, born 1712, Jonathan, born 1715, and Anna, born 1717.
His wife was Priscilla. Her surname is not in the Bridgewater books, and they probably married elsewhere, about 1733. A child of John Wood was "found dead in the bed" on 29 October 1733, which suggests a first baby before the children who are named. The named children were entered as children of "John and Priscilla": Anna on 21 July 1734, who died that 30 October; Mary in October of 1735 or 1736; William on 12 May 1737, who lived two days; Priscilla on 19 December 1738; John on 28 January 1740; Sarah on 19 February 1742; the twins Ebenezer and Patience on 14 September 1745; Abigail on 8 July 1747; Francis on 2 November 1750; Silas on 6 April 1752; and Joseph on 9 March 1756.
His daughter Mary married Eleazar Snow of North Bridgewater in 1757. His mother died in 1749 as the widow Wood. His own death is not given.
