Lydia Webster
Lydia was the wife of Aaron Webster of Southington, Connecticut, a lieutenant of the parish trainband. The 1915 Webster genealogy prints her as "Lydia ______", with a ruled blank where her surname belongs, and notes that the date of her death was "not obtained."
Her children were all born and baptised at Southington, ten of them in twenty three years. The first, Lydia, was baptised on 29 July 1744 and died on 5 September 1746, in her third year. A month after that death she bore a second daughter on 7 October 1746 and gave her the same name. Hannah followed on 20 October 1748, then Abiel in 1750, Robert in 1752, Aaron in 1755, Jerusha in 1756 and Elisha in 1758. A son Daniel was baptised on 14 April 1765 and died the same day. The youngest, Sarah, was born on 7 August 1767.
The second Lydia married Amos Root in 1767 and died at Southington on 9 April 1780, aged thirty three years, six months and two days, leaving six children. Her husband Aaron died on 21 March 1783.
She outlived him. On 7 December 1785 she signed first on the receipt by which the heirs acknowledged their shares of his estate from their son Robert, the administrator: "Lydia Webster, Jared Harrison, Hannah Harrison, Aaron Webster, Elisha Webster, Daniel Barnes, Sarah Barnes." Nothing later of her is known.
