Marit Olsdatter
Wife of Ole Olsen, gaardmand of Blakstvedt in Aadal, and named as mother at five baptisms in the Norderhov registers between 1803 and 1814. The clerk of the day wrote her Mari in 1803, Marit in 1806 and 1808, Margit in 1811 and Marte in 1814, and at that last entry added that she was of Viker annex. Mari, Marit and Margit are the same name in different mouths; Marte is a different name altogether and is almost certainly the clerk's slip, since the farm, the husband and the year all hold steady.
She bore Kari in 1803 and buried her at four, then Ingeborg in 1806, a second Kari in 1808, Ole in August 1811 and Gulbrand in June 1814. Her own father was an Ole by her patronymic and no record read names him, and her birth, her marriage and her death are all unrecorded in the sources searched.
Her son Ole crossed into Hadeland and took the Melbostad farm, and the first daughter born to him there was christened Maria.
