Marthe Hansdatter
Wife of Iver Torbjørnsen, the farmer of Lund in Skiptvet, and entered as twenty-six in the census of February 1801, though by her burial age she was twenty-eight. The pair are marked Begge i første ægteskab, both in a first marriage, so she was his only wife until she died and every child of his before 1814 is hers.
Six of those children are on record. Berthe and Ingeborg were three and one in 1801. Then a Torkild in April 1802, Maria in October 1804, a second Torkild born on 15 October 1807, and Hans in November 1810. The clerk enters her Marthe Hansdatter, Hustrue, of Lund. Her son Torkild married in 1840 and fathered the Iver who went to Minnesota as Iver Torkelson Lund.
She was buried at Skiptvet on 2 December 1810, seven days after Hans was christened. By October 1814 her husband had a son Ole baptised at Lund by a second wife, Anne Hogensdatter. Her parents are unrecorded in the known sources; her patronymic gives her father's name, Hans.
