Rebecca Dean
Born in Georgia about 1828. Her family name is known because the Georgia marriage books record her wedding to Archibald Robinett under it, which is more than most women of her generation get.
She was about eighteen when the first of her eight children was born and about thirty five at the last. The 1860 census of Cass County gives the household at its fullest, seven children under fourteen, and the youngest of them carries her name.
Some time in the 1860s the family crossed into Cherokee County, following the daughter who had married a Cherokee County man. By 1880 she and Archibald were in District 1279, and in that household, as in the one ten years before it, there is a Dean of about her own age. The 1880 page names him: Rich. Dean, fifty seven, brother in law to the head. He is her brother, and the only member of her own family known by name.
Her death and her burial are not in any known record.
