Rebecca Peckham was a daughter of John Peckham of Newport, Rhode Island. Her mother was almost certainly his second wife, Eleanor. His first wife, Mary Clarke, was dead by 1651, and Rebecca was still bearing children in 1699.

She married John Spooner of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Their children were born there between 1680 and 1699. Elizabeth, born 19 June 1683, married Joseph Taber.

Her brother Stephen moved to Dartmouth about 1686. Her sister Deborah married Robert Taylor, Elizabeth married Peter Taylor, and Phoebe married Thomas Gray.

Her brother James Peckham died at Newport on 26 February 1712. His heirs joined in a power of attorney to sell his estate. It was "signed by the following legal representatives: Eleanor Peckham, John Spooner, and Rebecca Spooner, Isaac Peckham, Deborah Taylor, Thomas and Phoebe Gray". That paper is the record that names her as James's sister and heir. Her death is not recorded.
