Rose Whitlock

d. 1691 · Chelmsford MA
Died 1691
Children include Moses

Rose Whitlock married Abraham Parker at Woburn, Massachusetts, on 18 November 1644, according to a genealogy of the Parker and Whitlock families printed in 1933. Woburn was then a new town north of Charlestown.

Her husband was admitted a freeman in 1645. About 1653 they moved north to the new town of Chelmsford with his brothers Jacob, James and Joseph. A fifth brother, John, settled at Shawsheen, now Andover. The Chelmsford town register spells her Roas against some of her children and Rose against others, which is one woman and two clerks rather than two women. Her children included Elisabeth, Lydia, Isaac, Mary and Moses, born in May 1653.

Abraham died at Chelmsford on 13 August 1685, six days after making his will. She lived another six years. She died at Chelmsford in November 1691, on the 13th or the 30th, and her own will is on file among the Middlesex County probate records.

Her parents are not known. The 1933 genealogy says only that it is probable she was a daughter of a John Whitlock.
