Sarah Catherine Morris
Sarah Catherine Morris was born at Kingwood, the county seat of Preston County, West Virginia, on 11 July 1921. Her memorial names her parents as Walter Crane Morris and Sarah Florence Davis. Her father was 51 when she was born and her mother almost 40.
She married Harold Burnard "Pete" Zinn of Reedsville. Their daughter Carolyn Lou was born at Reedsville about 1942, and a second daughter, Catherine J., in 1945. On Carolyn's marriage licence of 1959 her mother's name is written "Sarah Cathern (Morris) Zinn". Carolyn was seventeen, and Sarah and Harold gave their consent to the clerk in person.
Her father died at Reedsville in February 1943. Her mother lived on at Reedsville as a widow until 12 December 1960. Sarah, signing as Sarah C. Zinn of Reedsville, gave the particulars for her mother's death certificate: Sarah Florence Morris, born at Tunnelton on 20 September 1881, the daughter of Ben Davis and Mary Catherine Jones.
Sarah Catherine died at Kingwood on 6 April 2006, aged 84. She is buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood, in Lot 24 of the old west section, with her husband and her parents.
