Sarah Wright
Sarah Wright came from Charlestown, Massachusetts. Lincoln's History of Hingham calls her "Mrs. Sarah (Wright) Cummings, of Charlestown", so she was the widow of a Cummings when she married again. Her first husband's given name is not recorded there. Another account calls her a daughter of Joseph Wright and Elizabeth Hassell, without a source.
On 9 August 1707 she was published to Aaron Pratt of Hingham, a widower whose first wife had died the July before. She came into a house with eleven stepchildren, the youngest a baby born in April 1706.
She bore Aaron four children: Abigail on 4 August 1708, Phineas on 31 December 1709, Benjamin on 13 March 1710/11, and Nathaniel, whose birth was not recorded. Abigail married Jonathan Neal in 1741. Phineas, who wrote his name Phinehas, became a housewright and a captain of Granville. Nathaniel was a blacksmith. Benjamin graduated from Harvard in 1737 and became chief justice of the Colony of New York.
Aaron died in February 1736. Sarah outlived him by nearly seventeen years. She died on 13 December 1752, aged eighty four, and is buried with the Pratts at Cohasset.
