Terri Taylor

Terri Lynn Taylor was born on 30 May 1953 at Oklahoma City. Her mother was Zada Nell Limerick, who had been born at Gotebo, in Kiowa County, in 1931. Terri was Zada's eldest child. Her brothers were Wayne Taylor, Sam Taylor, born in Germany in 1957, and Nolen Phelps, and she had a sister, Marta, who died before her.

She grew up at Lawton and at Medicine Park, a small resort town of cobblestone cottages at the foot of the Wichita Mountains, north of Lawton. She went to Lawton High School.

Her eldest daughter, Teresa Diane Richardson, was born at Lawton in 1971. Her father was Harry Richardson Jr. Terri later had two more daughters, Christine and Leilani. She married more than once and carried the surnames Dunn and Gersbach. On 26 March 2011 she married Gerry Gersbach at Lawton.

Terri was, in the words of her obituary, "a professional waitress." She worked at a number of Lawton restaurants, including Wright's Donuts for many years. She enjoyed her Keno group, playing at the casino, yard work and jewelry. Her mother Zada died in 1993, and her stepfather, Willis Schantz, outlived Zada and was still living at Lawton in 2018.

Terri Lynn Dunn-Gersbach died at Lawton on Monday, 18 June 2018, at sixty-five. A memorial service was held at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home on Saturday, 23 June, with Pastor Sharon Jones officiating; her obituary called Sharon Jones of Waurika her "special sister." She was survived by her husband; her three daughters, Teresa Busby of Lawton, Christine Jones of Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Leilani Buehne of Denton, Texas, and their husbands; her stepfather; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her brothers Wayne Taylor of Lawton, Sam Taylor of Arizona and Nolen Phelps of Lawton. One friend wrote in the guest book of "the bear hugs Terri gave me every time I saw her."
