Adam Narlett
Adam Narlett was a full-blood Choctaw, born about 1850, the son of a man recorded only as Narlett and of Pa-he-ma, both of Eagle County in the Choctaw Nation and both dead by 1899. His first wife, whose name is not recorded, was the mother of his daughter Elbina, born about 1879. She died before 1899.
By 1896 Adam was living in Nashoba County, on the Choctaw roll of that year as no. 9677. He married again, to Emma Jackson, a full-blood about twenty-four years younger, the daughter of Joseph and Phoebe Jackson; her daughter Bicey Ward came into the house as his stepdaughter. On 29 May 1899 he applied to the Dawes Commission from Smithville to enroll the household. He was 49. A son, Carbin, was born on 27 October 1899, and a daughter, Amanda, on 1 November 1901. Amanda died as a small child. A son, Grincy, was enrolled as a newborn in 1905. The family's enrollment was approved in January and October 1903, Adam under roll number 5834.
His daughter Elbina married Josiah Thomas of Cedar County, and on her own enrollment card in 1899 she named Adam Narlett of Nashoba County as her father. When and where Adam died is not known.
