Amelia Fredrica Truede was born in Philadelphia on 17 August 1872, by her grave marker. She married Samuel James Haas, about seven years older, and bore him eleven children between 1891 and 1914.
Her daughter Marion E. Haas was born in Philadelphia on 25 January 1903, and the birth return names her as the mother. In 1910 Amelia was 38, living in Cheltenham Township just outside the city with Samuel and eight children. In 1920, at 48, she was back in Philadelphia with Samuel and eight children still at home.
When Marion married Thomas Reynolds Evans in October 1924, the record named her mother as Emilia Truede. Samuel died in June 1927.
In 1940 Amelia, 67, lived with Marion and her second husband, Frederich Haussmann, in Philadelphia's 35th Ward, along with her daughter Elizabeth, 31, and her granddaughter Virginia Laura Evans, 15. The census gives her birthplace as New Jersey, against Pennsylvania in 1910 and 1920. She died in Philadelphia on 14 November 1942, at seventy, and is buried with Samuel at Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge.
