Amund Erichsen
Born about 1745 in Gran in Hadeland, and married there on 11 October 1776 to Kiersti Jonsdatter, entered Pigen of Smidshamer; he is written of Baarud at the wedding. Their eldest son Erich was born about a year later and carries the name of Amund's own father, which is all that man has left.
The Gran register follows the household across three farms. He is at Baarud in 1776, at Tesebakken when his son Amund was christened on 26 December 1787, at Tislebakken when his daughter Anne was christened on 2 December 1792, and at Grimsrud by the time he died. Tesebakken and Tislebakken are the same place under two clerks' spellings; Grimsrud was the move that mattered, and it happened in the two and a half years between Anne's christening and his own burial.
He was buried from Grimsrud on 23 April 1795, aged fifty. The census of February 1801 then finds his widow still on that farm and entered Bruger gaarden, working it, with the four children round her: Erich of twenty-four, Anders of seventeen, Amund of twelve and Anne of eight. Anne married Guldbrand Andersen of Jonnaes in May 1814 and named her second son Amund, for the father she had lost at two.
