Anne Amundsdatter

Of Grimsrud in Gran when she married Gulbrand Andersen of Jonnaes on 24 May 1814, and of Jonnaes for the twenty years afterwards. The register calls her nothing but Anne Amunds Dtr. of Grimsrud, which in the Norwegian manner gives her father's given name, Amund, and the farm she came off, and no more.

She is named as mother on the baptisms of seven children at Jonnaes between 1815 and 1834, the clerk spelling her Amundsdtr, AmundsDatter, Amundsdattr and once Omundsdtr as the mood took him. The second of those children was a son called Amund, named for her side after the first son had been named for her husband's, which is the ordinary Norwegian pattern doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

She was baptised at Gran on 2 December 1792, the daughter of Amund Erichsen and Kirsti Johnsdatter, and her death is not known. Her daughter Kirstie, born at Jonnaes in October 1818, married into Melbostad and her grandson Thrond went to Minnesota.
