Anders Olsen
Anders Olsen farmed a holding at Myhr in Stjørdal parish, Nord-Trøndelag, around 1800. The census of 1 February 1801 lists him first among the households there: Anders Olsen, 37, husbonde, bonde og gaardbeboer, a farmer living on and working his own holding, in his first marriage.
His wife was Anne Trulsdatter, 38. Their children at home were Ole, 8; Anne, 4; and twins, Jens and Truls, a year old. The clerk wrote Tvillingbarn, twin child, against each of the boys. A farmhand, Lars Tarraldsen, 17, and a widow, Ingeborg Rolfsdatter, 42, served in the house. Anders had brought children to the font at Myhr on 30 July 1797 and 28 December 1800, the second of these the winter the twins were born.
Myhr was a large farm with several holdings. In 1801 a second farmer, Peder Olsen, 32, held another part of it, and an old couple lived on their kår, the retirement portion a farm owed to the generation that had handed it on. Cottars with land of their own to work lived around them.
His son Ole is almost certainly the Ole Andersen who married at Værnes church in November 1818 as a bachelor and farmer of Myhr, aged 27, and who died at Myhr in 1824. The twin Truls Andersen, born at Myhr, married in 1827 as a bachelor farmer there. The census is the only record that ties the boy to his parents, so the link rests on name, place and age. When Anders Olsen died is not known.
