Anders Pedersen Heuch
Anders Pedersen, called Heuch, of Skien in Telemark. He married Live Marie Seyersdatter Bjøstrup, and their sons are the Heuch brothers who settled at Kragerø from about 1740 and became one of that town's leading merchant families inside a generation.
Four of the sons went. Halvor, born 1721 or 1722, was a prokurator who turned timber merchant and shipowner and is called unquestionably the foremost of the brothers; Arne, born 1728, was a merchant and shipowner at Kragerø; Rasmus, born 1725, and Ditlev, the youngest, settled there as well. The family historian's judgement is that they arrived with standing rather than without it, and that everything indicates the Heuchs were well placed socially both in Skien and as newcomers to Kragerø.
What sent them is put carefully and it is not flattering. His affairs were in a poor state, and much suggests, the account says, that his eventual bankruptcy drove the sons away from Skien. His estate was registered at Skien in April 1747.
