Anna Barbara Bachman
Anna Barbara Bachman was born on 11 September 1803 at Strengelbach, in the Swiss canton of Aargau, by a compiled family record. On 4 December 1832 she married Bartholome Taeschler of Zofingen, the neighboring town. Her daughter Anna Maria's death certificate names her as Anna Barbara Bachman and her husband as Bothlamus Teschler, both of Switzerland.
Her children were born in Switzerland: Melanie, Elisabeth in 1835, Anna Maria in 1840 and Abraham about 1842. In 1846, when she was forty-two, the family came to Texas, to Henri Castro's colony in Medina County, and in 1850 they lived at Quihi.
In February 1860 her daughters Elisabeth and Anna Maria married the Haass brothers Phillip and George Louis. Elisabeth died in 1869, leaving young children. In 1880 Anna Barbara was a widow living with Anna Maria and George Haass. She died on 24 March 1881, at seventy-seven, and was buried in the Haass family cemetery near Castroville.
