Bartholome Taeschler
Bartholome Taeschler was born at Zofingen, in the Swiss canton of Aargau, in 1793, by a compiled family record. On 4 December 1832 he married Anna Barbara Bachman of Strengelbach, the next village. Their children were born in Switzerland: Melanie, Elisabeth in October 1835, Anna Maria in June 1840 and Abraham about 1842.
In 1846 he brought the family to Texas, to Henri Castro's colony in Medina County. His daughter Anna Maria's death certificate, written in 1932, names her father as "Bothlamus Teschler" of Switzerland and says she had been in the country eighty-six years. In 1850 the family lived at Quihi, a settlement of the colony north of Castroville.
On 17 October 1853 he took title to his colonist's land, 640 acres in sections 29 and 30, on Castro colony certificate 76. In February 1860 his daughters Elisabeth and Anna Maria married two Haass brothers, Phillip and George Louis, on the same day. When and where he died is not known. His wife was living with Anna Maria and George Haass in 1880.
