Betsey Rodenbaugh
Betsey Rodenbaugh, christened Elizabeth, was born at Lebanon, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, about 1785, a daughter of John Rodenbaugh. Her family name was among those of the German settlers who came to Philadelphia in 1752 on the ship Two Brothers, the same ship that brought the first Lindaberrys.
She married John Lindaberry, a son of Henry Lindaberry of German Valley, on 8 November 1812 by a family tree. Her children were Eliza, who married Frederick Terryberry; Susan, who married William Fritts; Lydia, who married Charles Carhart; and Sherwood, a doctor at Bloomsbury. A son Nathan died in 1823 at about two years old.
She died at Lebanon on 11 March 1851, aged 66, and was buried in the churchyard of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church in Morris County. Her upright marble stone, with a scalloped panel, reads "Elizabeth wife of John Lindabery died Mar. 11, 1851," followed by her age. Her husband was buried at her right twelve years later.
