Elizabeth Lindaberry, also called Eliza, was a native of New Jersey. A genealogy of the region's German families, published in 1895, makes her the first named child of John Lindaberry and Betsey Rodenbaugh. Her sisters Susan and Lydia married William Fritts and Charles Carhart, and her brother Sherwood became a doctor at Bloomsbury. Her grandfather Henry Lindaberry held one of the early farms of German Valley.

On 20 February 1834 she married Frederick Terriberry. They farmed near Clinton, in Hunterdon County, and had eleven children, six sons and five daughters. Among them were Jacob, born near Clinton on 27 October 1844, and Joseph Frederick, born at Clinton on 1 July 1857, who became a New York neurologist.

In the spring of 1867 the family went west to Bureau County, Illinois, and settled at Princeton. Later they moved to a farm three miles west of Malcom, in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Elizabeth died on 25 September 1879. A county history of 1911 says she died on the Iowa farm. Her husband's obituary says that when he died in 1902 he was buried beside her at Princeton, Illinois.
