Daniel W. Burns was born in Arbuckle District, Mason County, on 25 September 1873, and his father registered the birth.
He married Minnie A. Denny at Point Pleasant on 3 September 1895, giving his age as twenty one, and the 1900 census has them in Arbuckle District five years married. They were at Point Pleasant by 1930 and he was living on Highland Avenue there at the end.
He died on 30 October 1954 at St. Marys Hospital in Huntington, of coronary thrombosis, after fourteen days, with hypertensive heart disease of three years standing behind it. He was eighty one. The informant was Mrs. Minnie Burns, his wife of fifty nine years, who followed him in February 1958 and was returned a widow. He is buried at Lone Oak Cemetery.
The death was registered in Cabell County because the hospital was there; the certificate gives his usual residence as Point Pleasant, Mason County. His middle initial is on his birth registration.
