Eddie Glenn Keele
Eddie Glenn Keele was born on Sunday, 29 November 1931, at half past two in the afternoon, at 414 North Main Street in San Angelo, Texas. Dr. J. K. Sessums attended the birth. His father, F. G. Keele, was 34, born at Burnet, and gave his work as ranching. His mother, Emma Nisbett, was 30 and had been born at Rising Star. The family's post office address was a star route out of Robert Lee, in Coke County. Eddie was the fourth child of the marriage, and all four were living. The other three were his brothers Raymond Theodore, Burle Ennis and Finis Richmond Keele, the last named for their grandfather.
In 1935 the Keeles were living in the country in Ector County. By the spring of 1940 they had moved to Concho County, near Eola, where the census found Freelen G. Keele, 43, and Lillian E., 38, with Raymond, 13, Burle, 11, Finis, 9, and Eddie, 8. Eddie grew up on the farm there and graduated from the Eola high school.
In 1951 he met Virginia Lou Cryer at church, when the two shared a hymnal. They were married on 9 May 1951 in Irion County, the county just west of San Angelo. Her obituary called him her husband of 62 years. They made their home in San Angelo, where she worked for Ethicon for more than thirty years. After retiring they moved to Holland, Texas.
Their children were Charles Dale Keele, who died in 1960, Kimberly Michelle Keele, who died as an infant in 1976, Rodger Keele and Brenda Keele Bledsoe. Virginia died in October 2018. Eddie died on 20 February 2020 in Round Rock, Texas, at age 88. He is buried beside her at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery near Davilla, Milam County.
