Einar Andersen
Husmand at Tjon in Leikanger, on the north shore of the Sognefjord, and about forty-five when the census of April 1815 caught him there with his wife Kari Johnsdatter, thirty-eight, and a two-year-old, Britha. He is entered Hmd, husmand, a cottar holding a patch under somebody else's farm.
His son Endre was born the following January and is named for him in the marriage register of 19 June 1844, where the column for the groom's father reads Einar Andersen and the groom's birthplace reads Tjon. That Endre kept his father's position exactly: the census of 1865 has him at Hestoen in the same parish, entered husmand med jord, a cottar with land, with six children in the house. Four of those six went to Minnesota, and Endre and his wife followed them.
His own birth, death and parents are not given by any record read. A child of his was baptised from Hestoen in December 1813 and another from Tjon in November 1812, so the family moved between the two places, or held ground at both.
