Elizabeth Fuller
Elizabeth Fuller was born in Salem Village, the farming district of Salem that later became Middleton. The town clerk entered her birth under her grandfather's name: "Jacob Fuller, sone of Thomas Fuller, his daughter Eliza borne by Mary his wife 19th Feb'y, 1687." In the old calendar the year began in March, so she was born in February 1687 or 1688; the Fiske genealogy gives 1686. Her father was a blacksmith, and her mother was Mary Bacon. Her grandfather, Lieutenant Thomas Fuller, had come from England in 1638 and settled the family farm near Will's Hill. The Fiske genealogy notes that the writer Margaret Fuller came from the same Fuller family.
On 24 May 1710 she married Ebenezer Fiske of Wenham at Beverly. Seven years later her younger sister Sarah married Ebenezer's nephew Daniel Fiske. Elizabeth and Ebenezer had nine children: Sarah, Jonathan, Ebenezer, Elizabeth, Jacob, Mary, William, Mercy and Lucy, the last born in April 1732. Elizabeth died on 25 August 1732. Her husband lived almost forty years longer, and in his will of 1764 he left "all the household goods that was my first wife's" to their granddaughter Sarah.
