Elizabeth Green was the wife of Richard Green of Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. One account gives her maiden name as Woolverton, but no record says so.

She and Richard had daughters Elizabeth, Mary and Sarah. Elizabeth married Henry Waterhouse of Kingwood about 1766, Mary married a Holcomb and Sarah a Gano. Richard died without a will in 1794, and Henry Waterhouse settled his estate.

As a widow she lived in Kingwood Township. On 1 May 1805 she made her will. "1805, May 1. Green, Elizabeth, of Kingwood Twsp., Hunterdon Co., widow of Richard Green, of Amwell, dec'd; will of. Daughter, Elizabeth Waterhouse, 8 day clock, brass kettle and 1/3 of residue. Daughter, Mary Holcomb ... Grandsons, Stephen Gano, Joshua Waterhouse, Richard Gano, Richard Green and Richard Holcomb, each £8. Grandson, Richard Waterhouse, my desk, provided he should return to this part of the country, otherwise said desk to grandson, John Waterhouse, said John, also my large Bible ... Executor, grandson, John Waterhouse. Witnesses, Ingham Waterhouse, Daniel Lake, Hart Johnson. Proved Aug. 6, 1807."

The grandson she was waiting for was Richard Green Waterhouse, Henry and Elizabeth's son, who had gone to Tennessee by 1803 as a surveyor. Her daughter Elizabeth died in May 1806, before her. Her own will was proved on 6 August 1807.
