Elizabeth Hasson
Elizabeth was the wife of John Hasson, a labourer of Cadney in Lincolnshire, and the mother of Thomas Hassen of Cadney and Grasby. Her maiden name has not been recovered.
Six of her children with John are entered in the Cadney register between 1573 and 1589. Catherine and Ursula were buried as infants, and a son John, baptized in April 1589, was buried the following March. Her daughter Elizabeth died at twenty five in October 1598. Richard, christened in March 1576/7, and Thomas, christened on 11 March 1580/1, were the two who lived to have families.
John was buried at Cadney on 14 April 1591. On 24 November 1594 she married Thomas Lodington at Cadney, and she buried him there in October 1604. On 23 June 1605 she married Peter Grant, also at Cadney. She outlived him too, and was buried at Cadney on 5 February 1630/1, entered in the bishop's transcript as Elizabeth Grant widdow.
She outlived her son Thomas, who died at Grasby in May 1628. Her grandson Edward was sixteen when she died. He later went to Massachusetts, where he was a proprietor of Rowley by about 1646.
