Elizabeth Theresa Kenyon
Elizabeth Theresa Kenyon was born in New York about 1847. She married John Vinson Harvey of Searsburg, Vermont, and spent almost all her life at Readsboro, a hill town in southern Vermont. Their children included Harriet, Carrie Rosabelle, born in 1874, Gertrude, Frank and Alonzo.
She outlived her daughter Carrie, who died at Bennington of tuberculosis in 1918, and her husband, who died in 1920. About September 1929 she left Readsboro to live with her daughter, Mrs. Harriet Moon, at 28 Veazie Street in North Adams, Massachusetts. She died there of pneumonia on Saturday night, 5 April 1930, after a brief illness. Her obituary gives her age as 81.
Rev. Dr. D. H. Clare of the First Baptist Church conducted the funeral, and her body was taken to South Readsboro for burial in the family lot. She shares her husband's marble stone at South Hill Cemetery, carved "His wife, Elizabeth T. Kenyon, 1847, 1930."
