Elizabeth Webster
Elizabeth was the first wife of John Webster of Northampton and Lebanon, a grandson of Gov. John Webster. Her surname is not recorded. The 1915 Webster genealogy enters her as "Elizabeth ______" and says there is "no record of the deaths of his wives." Another account calls her Elizabeth Dewey, without a source.
Her children were Thomas, born 12 October 1699, who died young; Elizabeth, born 26 February 1700/1; a second Thomas, born 8 February 1703/4; Josiah, born 26 January 1705/6; and John. The genealogy thinks the elder children were probably born at Northampton. Her husband was among the first proprietors of Lebanon in Connecticut, granted land there from 1697.
She died before 4 August 1709, when her husband married Grace Loomis at Lebanon. When he died in 1735 his gravestone called him "the loving Consort of Mrs. Elizabeth Webster deceased his first wife and Mrs. Grace Webster his 2d who survived him." Her four surviving children were named in a deed of that December as "the only children" of their father.
