Esther Seaborne
She made a will on 4 January 1676, with her husband's consent and confirmation, and it was proved on 12 February 1685. Savage says that much of what he gives of this family is taken from it.
What it names: John, called her oldest son; the children of her daughter Ware, who was dead by then; her son Samuel of Charlestown and his wife Hannah; and Esther, daughter of her son in law John Peck of Rehoboth. It also speaks of "a legacy of some amt. from her br. FRANCIS SEABORN in Eng." as then due.
If Savage's word is exact, her maiden surname was Seaborn and her family was still in England in the 1670s, still solvent enough to be leaving legacies across the Atlantic, and still in touch with a sister who had emigrated forty years before. "Brother" in seventeenth century usage also covers a brother in law and a fellow church member, and Savage gives no other Seaborn anywhere, but the Huntting family genealogy of 1888 names her outright as Hester Seaborne.
