Eunice Warner
Eunice Warner was born about 1719 and married Simeon Church, the blacksmith and parish clerk of Chester in Saybrook, Connecticut. Their children were born from the 1740s to the 1750s and later, among them Elizabeth, born on 28 November 1753, who married Isaiah Huntley.
Simeon died in October 1792, and Eunice was left a widow in her seventies. In March 1803 the family settled her keeping. Her son Titus, then of Pawlet, Vermont, gave a quitclaim deed for his share of his father's estate to Phineas Warner of Saybrook, the husband of her daughter Eunice. A quitclaim gave up a claim to the land without any promise about its title. In return Warner bound himself to support "his Honored Mother, the widow to the said Simeon Church, during her natural life without any cost to him." She was about eighty-four, and she lived six more years.
She died at Chester parish on 16 July 1809, "in 90th year". Her parents are not known. Her son-in-law Phineas Warner shared her surname. He was the son of David Warner and Sarah Ward of Chester, and the Warner genealogy of 1919, which covers the Saybrook and Chester Warners, names her only as "Eunice (Warner) Church" in his entry. It does not place her in any Warner family.
