Franciscus Münck
Franciscus Münck lived at Oberflacht, a Catholic village in the Tuttlingen country of Württemberg whose parish church was at Seitingen. His wife was Anna Maria Distler. Two sons of theirs were baptised at Seitingen, Petrus on 25 June 1709 and Thomas on 3 April 1712. Both had the same godparents, Engelbert Traber and Maria Mutschlin.
He had older children too. At the confirmation of 4 October 1709 the Oberflacht list enters "Christian, Marcella, Nicolaus, Gebhard liberi Francisci Münck". The list names no mother, so whether they were Anna Maria Distler's children or an earlier wife's is not known.
He died on 28 April 1716. The entry is four words: "obiit Franciscus Münckh de Oberflacht." It gives no age. Above it a later hand has written his wife's name in pencil, "Anna Maria Distel". Petrus was six and Thomas four.
In October 1723 the two boys were confirmed together, entered as "Petrus et Thomas Francisci Münckh p: m:". The p: m: is the clerk's mark, used all through the list, for a father of pious memory, one no longer living. Thomas was the only Thomas Münck confirmed at Oberflacht that year. He married Theresia Ilg of Seitingen in January 1740, and their son Matthäus was born in 1742.
