George William Cleveland Walker
George William Cleveland Walker was born on 1 November 1884 at Dunlap, in Sequatchie County, Tennessee. His memorial names his parents as Warren Butler Walker (1858 to 1915) and Myra Elizabeth Williams Walker (1866 to 1952).
On 24 December 1912 he married Ellen Texas Raulston in Marion County, Tennessee. The couple had eight children. Six appear on his memorial: Ellen E. Gratz (1913 to 1982), George R. Walker (1916 to 2008), Forrest W. "Trix" Walker (1918 to 1987), Horace Paul Walker (1918 to 1973), Dorothy L. Walker Leckie (1920 to 1990), and Fannie Lois Walker Duggar (1926 to 1988).
The family moved north to western Pennsylvania. There George worked for coal mines as a pumper and a surveyor. A pumper kept water pumped out of the mine workings. Lois was born at Indianola, Allegheny County, in 1926.
George died on 24 February 1939 at New Kensington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, aged 54. His memorial says he was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. He is buried in Deer Creek Cemetery at Cheswick, Allegheny County.
