Halvor Aasulfsen Solberg
Halvor Aasulfsen Solberg, born in 1647 and dead on 2 March 1685, of the Solberg farm in Drangedal in Telemark. He was a son of Aasolf Eilevsen, the lensmann and churchwarden who had himself been born at Solberg.
He married Maria Tolvsdatter Tveit, a daughter of Tolv Carlsen. Their children include Halvor, born 1676, who took the farm after him and held the sheriff's office; Tåran, born 1678 and buried 31 March 1759, who carries the name of her father's grandmother, Tåran, wife of Eilev Olsen Solberg; and Anne, who married Christen Hansen Rugtveit.
He died at thirty seven. His widow married again, to Jørgen Clausen Niemann, of the Skien family of that name which had already given the town a councillor. That second marriage is the first link between this inland farm and the coastal towns, and it was followed by two more: the son Halvor married the Skien mayor's daughter Johanne Maria Hylle, and the granddaughter Maria Magdalene married the Kragerø attorney and timber merchant Halvor Heuch in 1747.
