Heinrich Bieker was born in 1825 in Obermonjou, a German Catholic colony on the Volga, the eldest son of Johannes Bieker and his wife Margaret. The colony's census of 1834 lists him at nine in household 112 with his brothers Johann Adam, Nikolaus and Johannes; Joseph came after. On 7 February 1844 he married at Katharinenstadt, the market town of the meadow-side colonies, Anna Margaretha Mueller of Schoenchen, a daughter of Johannes Mueller and Susanna Linenberger, born about 1826. They had two children, Anna Maria, born 15 August 1846, who married John J. Geist and lived to 1943, and Conrad, born about 1850, who married Maria Elizabeth Pfannenstiel. Anna Margaretha died about 1851 in Obermonjou. About 1852 Heinrich married Elizabeth Herman, born about 1830, and had a son Phillip and three daughters, Ezadoria, Maria and Margaret.

In 1875, after Russia ended the colonists' exemption from the army, Heinrich, fifty, and his brothers Nikolaus, Johannes and Joseph took their families across the Atlantic on the steamship Ohio and landed at Baltimore on 23 November 1875, among the first Volga Germans in America. Adam and the widowed mother Margaret followed the next year. In Kansas the Biekers were among the founding families of Schoenchen in Ellis County, and Heinrich's son Phillip went on to Rush County. Henry Bieker died in 1882. Elizabeth lived with Phillip at Gorham in Russell County until her death in 1909.
